Chapter 5 Page 139, paragraph 1: "information needed to use FreeBSD" Page 144, paragraph 4: "example, suppose most users" Page 147, paragraph 4: "Not" should be "Note" Page 151, paragraph 5: "usually running" Page 169, paragraph 3: "where pressure" Page 172, paragraph 3: Delete licensing discussion, enter that NEC spun it off as Permeo Page 173, #2: Release 11 Page 174: rev up to 11 Page 175: squid-2.4_6.tgz Page 175, Exhibit 5.4, step 2: There is no FreeBSD directory on ftp.cdrom.com any more but there is one on ftp.freesoftware.com Page 177, paragraph 2: "a" Page 177: The two occurrences of "an NAT" should read "a NAT" Page 180, Exhibit 5.5, step 1: 10M should read 10Mbt Page 180, Exhibit 5.5, step 2: The occurrences of ed0 and ed1 in the last sentence of this step are reversed. The sentence should read: "For the following examples, 192.168.1.1 is the inside number used on the ed1 interface, and 34.56.3.2 is the outside valid number used on the ed0 interface." Page 182, first and second paragraphs: These paragraphs should indicate that the following examples are for older FreeBSD versions. With current versions, all that is necessary to activate NAT is to put the following in /etc/rc.conf firewall_enable="YES" firewall_type="open" (in practice this should be your selected firewall type) natd_enable="YES" natd_interface="ed0" and the natd.cf file is not needed unless you wish to make static maps. If you do wish to make static maps, then in the /etc/rc.conf file add natd_flags="-f /etc/natd.cf" and in the /etc/natd.cf file, remove port 32000 and do not modify the /etc/rc.firewall file as stated in the book; it is already modified in current FreeBSD versions. Page 182: In the natd.cf file, change the instance of port 32000 to port 8668 to bring it in line with current practices Page 183: In the section of rc.firewall, change the line /sbin/ipfw add divert 32000 ip from any to any via to /sbin/ipfw add divert 8668 ip from any to any via to make it match the change on page 182 Page 180: Change URL to http://www.atstake.com/research/redirect.html Page 188: gated or zebra program, both in the posts Page 188: Route in courier Page 188: Remove the FreeBSD 4.X kernel stipulation (or mod it) and put in the error message that they get (see zebra list) Page 190: o in http for zelow Page 190: - The 0 should be removed from between http: and // in the URL for www.zelow.no/floppyfw in the last sentence of the second paragraph Page 192, paragraph 4: Change "installed" to "exists" Page 193: Change "large Cisco" to "large Juniper and Cisco" Page 193, paragraph 4: Change "Rhythms" to "Covad" Page 193, paragraph 6: Change "wanic" to "Sangoma"
